How to Build Calluses in Your Mind

how-to-build-mental-calluses

The way you build calluses in your mind is the same way you build them on your hands: by doing things that are hard for your mind.

The hardest thing you have experienced in life is the hardest thing you have experienced. This can be useful, or of little use depending on the depths of your hardships.

You want to do hard things voluntarily to form calluses, a type of organic armor, on your hands, your mind, and your spirit, so when involuntary hardships happen to you, you’re fine.

Those who do not volunteer for hardship will be buried by hardships they did not volunteer for.

How calluses are built in each domain of mankind:

  • Body domain: Built through the pursuit of mastery over the body
  • Mind domain: Built through the pursuit of mastery over the mind
  • Spirit domain: Built through overcoming hardship in the domains of mind and spirit

When you build calluses in your mind or on your body, you build them on your spirit.

How to build mental calluses

Calluses are built on the mind through mental sporting, learning, and problem solving.

Seeking out unknown mental concepts and making them known builds calluses, like filling in what is unknown on a map by going there and understanding what you find.

The mind is unknown unless you sit with it. The gift of life is wasted if you do nothing to understand your life. Meditation is an examination of your life, as much as it is an examination of the universe, as well as death itself.

Meditation helps the wanderer understand themselves. Meditation is mental sporting, learning, and problem solving all in one. If you haven’t added meditation to your personal code, now is the time to do so.

Math is one of the best ways to develop mental calluses. If you aren’t gifted for numbers, math is even better for you than those who are gifted; your challenge is greater than theirs, and so your internal and external rewards will be greater than theirs.

Do not compare your progress against anyone, let alone the numerically gifted. Compare yourself against the path. One step forward is progress. Progress is morally good.

Your mental calluses do not have to be developed by math. Math is a good choice because math is logic that applies to a business as much as it applies to the universal expansion of time and space.

If you’re a math person, and not a reader, consider reading books. You should do math, and you should read; when has mathematical understanding, or an understanding of a book, ever hurt the individual?

Never.

Knowledge can only work for you, never against you.

To build voluntary calluses in your mind, you must pursue mastery in the domain of mind. There is no other way.

For followers of the Andreia Philosophy, you must find and follow a path to mastery in each domain.

The pursuit of mastery is how you live a good and fulfilling life.

Build calluses on your body, mind, and spirit(BMS).
