When you read, you gain knowledge. Knowledge is fine, but wisdom is better. Wisdom is taking your knowledge and applying it, given that the knowledge is useful.

The great power of reading is the ability to talk to the dead.
Reading allows you to download the thoughts of another. Writing is a physical medium for mental expression.
Put the thoughts of the greatest humans who have passed on into your mental programming; this is a superpower.
The “greatest humans” are whomever you define as such. There are obvious greats like Miyamoto Musashi and his 21 rules for walking alone, Stoics like Marcus Aurelius, or philosophers like Plato.
The greatest humans in your life can be your grandparents or parents; God willing, they left behind notes or journals.
Writing should be encouraged so more knowledge can be left for those who are willing and able to convert knowledge to wisdom. Even if you didn’t get along with your family, if they left writings behind, you may be able to understand where things went wrong, so you may break the cycle.
Knowledge is only power if you use it. Usable knowledge is wisdom.
Read everything. Gain all of the knowledge and convert it into wisdom.
Use books to speak to the dead, so they may live on in your mind.
Study those you idolize, as well as those you despise. If your enemies share their thoughts, listen to them, and you will hold an advantage over them.
